Even without them, MW2 will be way better than Bad Company 2, that is just how it is.
That is not the game to rally behind because MW2 stopped the dedicated servers. I know there were some weapons in the original that if you don't have them now, they are impossible to get EVER. However, Bad Company 2 has the same problem as the original where people who pay more or pre-order get more guns and perks than those who don't, at least for a while. You are just getting a console port with a few features added I think.

Some of the rage is channeled semi-constructively into (not a boycott, per se, but) a redirection of funds from Modern Warfare 2 over to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - a notion that has been cannily seized by the would-be recipient. 
I will just post what Tycho from Penny Arcade had to say on this very matter: No created maps or mods on bad company either then.
